To zadanie polega na użyciu odpowiednich czasowników frazowych (phrasal verbs) w odpowiedniej formie, aby uzupełnić luki w zdaniach. Oto rozwiązanie:

5. Everyone liked the idea that Jenny came up with. It was brilliant, indeed.
6. Unfaithful husbands are said to get away with their wives more often than women do.
7. After such a long break from school, Mike will find it hard to catch up with the other pupils. It’s probable that he won’t get a promotion.
8. Right at the beginning, the detective ran up against hard-to-solve mysteries. The rest of the investigation wasn’t easy, either.
9. They will criticize you because they consider you to be their strongest competitor. You should always stand up to unjust criticism.
10. Let’s do away with this method of production. It’s totally inefficient.

Uwaga: W zdaniu szóstym użyłem frazy “get away with”, ponieważ w kontekście zdania pasuje ona najlepiej, mimo że nie ma jej na liście. Zdanie, jak jest napisane, nie ma sensu, więc sądzę, że może chodzić o frazę “cheat on”, której jednak również nie ma na liście. Jeżeli to jest błąd w zadaniu, należałoby to wyjaśnić z osobą prowadzącą zajęcia lub w instrukcji.
